Unique Student Identifier

From January 1 2015, all students are now required to obtain a USI when undertaking nationally recognised training. Below is a summary of the USI, what it means to you and a link to request a USI.

The USI is a reference number made up of letters that gives students access to their USI account. A USI will allow an individual's USI account to be linked to the National Vocational Education and Training (VET) Data Collection allowing an individual to see all of their training results from all providers including all completed training units and qualifications.

The USI is available online at no cost to you.

You are required to provide one of the following forms of identification when applying for a USI:

-          Drivers licence

-          Medicare card

-          Australian Passport

-          Birth certificate

Full details of identification requirements can be found here http://www.usi.gov.au/Training-Organisations/Pages/proof-of-id.aspx
