What first aid training do we offer?

Magenta Safety Training offers nationally accredited training from the HLT Health training package in the following first aid units:

  • HLTAID001    Provide Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • HLTAID002    Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID003    Provide First Aid

The unit Provide CPR is included in both HLTAID002 and HLTAID003 so there is no need to complete both units.


These units will be delivered as stand alone units, and are available to both school and public groups.

HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary resuscitation $45per person

This course runs for a duration of four hours face to face, and teaches the skills required to safely perform CPR. This course is commonly referred to as a CPR update, and remains valid for 12 months.

HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support $85 per person

This course runs for 8 hours, four hours face to face and four hours self study using a workbook we will supply you with. The course provides the following basic skills to provide an initial response to life threatening emergencies:

  • DRSABCD
  • Basic casualty care
  • CPR
  • Treatment for severe bleeding, chocking and allergic reaction
  • Safe work practices for first aiders when working

This qualification should be updated every three years, however the Australian Resuscitation Council recommend you complete a CPR update annually.

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid $85 per person

This course runs for 16 hours, of which 8 hours is face to face and 8 hours self study using a workbook we will supply you with. The course covers the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support and casualty management until the arrival of medical assistance. Some of the topics covered in the course include:

  • DRSABCD
  • Patient management
  • CPR
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Bleeding
  • Burns
  • Cardiac arrest
  • Chest pain
  • Drowning
  • Bites and stings
  • Various injuries for example sprains and strains, fractures, head and spinal injuries, eye injuries etc
  • Medical conditions including epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, and other respiratory conditions
  • Shock
  • Stroke
  • Substance abuse
